Revisit The Concept
On my last post I added floor plans of a traditional opera house. However those lans were unsuccessful due to too many items were added on the floor plan. After reviewing with the teachers, I came up with new floor layout that was more related to my study models. to get the original concept into my project i had revisit the study and here are the diagrams I created during revision.

Study Models and Sketches
I have created many study models based on my inspiration. Out of those previous study models, I made two new study models based on scale. I did few sketches on those models to study few major elements in my building. The elements are auditorium, hallway, office spaces, or green rooms and rehearsal space. Also I was studying the models for outdoor spaces. These models and sketches were helpful for studying the major aspects of the building based on site plan and scale.

Project Inspiration
Calla lily is a kind of flower
where we can see geometric form. The formation of this flower is very interesting.
It’s created with a single petal wrapped
around the yellow pistils inside the flower. This flower symbolizes purity,
innocence, magnificent, beauty and sensuality. Besides that this flower used in funeral and
wedding. These lilies are available in
white, ivory, cream, pink, purple, lavender, burgundy, peach, orange, yellow
and deep purple.
Since I have chosen the Brooklyn
Site, my impression of the site is “The Brooklyn Bridge.” The bridge is not
only connecting the two destinations. According
to the “Bridges” song by John Farrell Bridge can represent many things such as
dreams, hopes, smile, inspiration, imagination and etc. Moreover, bridges can
be built in many different ways, some are arched, bend, suspended and straight.
“View” is the word that most
explains the Brooklyn Site, since it’s located next to the river views. However, I have created a collage which
showing views from different perspective. It will be useful for my project of
Opera House because stages always require good views for the performance.
